McDonald’s Headquarters

Hamburger University

The McDonald’s Global Headquarters in downtown Chicago stands as a benchmark in contemporary architectural concrete design, where speed of construction met elevated aesthetic ambition. Delivered using an accelerated top-down construction method, the 737,000-square-foot, nine-story structure required highly coordinated precast concrete solutions that balanced structural performance with architectural expression. As a full-block development in the Fulton Market district, the building’s exterior envelope was designed to serve as a visual anchor, incorporating precast concrete panels enhanced with thin brick formliner technology to achieve the optimum aesthetic.

Architectural formliners played a critical role in delivering the project’s design intent, and supporting the project's LEED Platinum goals.
